    Description

    Handsome fold-out 1957 Cities Service road map of North Carolina and South Carolina, printed more than 64 years ago.
    This map opens to 18" x 27" and has great detail on old highway alignments, with cartography by H.M. Gousha.
    North Carolina is on one side, with inset plans of Charlotte, Winston-Salem, Raleigh, and Great Smoky Mountains National Park and vicinity.
    South Carolina is on the other side, along with a map of the Florida peninsula and inset plans of Columbia and Charleston.
    This map was distributed by Cities Service in 1957 and is dated by the code number in the lower margin: 7-EE.
    Little green trefoil symbols locate hundreds of Cities Service gas stations in both states.
